The newest member of the Chelsea squad, Filip Jorgensen, was delighted to get his first start for the club, but believes there is plenty of work to do back at Cobham after our slender loss to Real Madrid.
The Blues had gone two goals behind due to goals from Dani Ceballos and Brahim Diaz in the first half an hour, before Noni Madueke halved the deficit before the interval with a cushioned header.
Jorgensen spoke of his first start, and Chelsea’s high defensive line when he spoke to journalists post-match.
'Of course I am happy to make my first start at this club.
‘For me I love to win and I hate to lose so I am not happy with the result,’ the Danish international said.
‘I am happy to get more minutes and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better on and off the pitch, get home and breathe a bit.’
He was also asked about his relationship with Spaniard Robert Sanchez.
‘It's very good and he works with me very well and we’re doing good training together.’
Enzo Maresca has spoken of wanting to reduce Chelsea’s defensive line by four or five metres and as the deepest of our whole squad, Filip was asked about the issues after the match with Los Blancos.
‘I think they are doing good but we have to work on some things. Also me, I need to be high when the defensive line is so high, but we can work on that as we have two weeks until the Premier League starts so we will work on that.
‘No, I think they do it pretty good and I think I could also be high and make less space. We will get to know each other and will work on some things.’
