Sam Kerr and Jamie-Lee Napier completed their first training session as Chelsea Women players today (Sunday).
This afternoon the Blues returned to training at Cobham after a well-deserved Christmas break and Emma Hayes’ squad were joined by their two new team-mates, Australian international Kerr (above right) and Scottish international Napier (above left).
Kerr was recently voted best women's player in the world in an influential poll.
Although Kerr made the long-haul flight from the USA to London just yesterday afternoon, she joined in with the full session, as did Napier who has made the move from her native Scotland.
Hayes oversaw the session, which began with some warm-up jogging and stretching, before a keep-ball session followed by a training match as we prepare for our first game of the New Year.
The Blues welcome Reading Women to our home in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday 5 January, which kicks off at 12.30pm.
Next Sunday could be your first chance to catch a glimpse of our two new signings in action. Tickets are still available and are priced at £9 for adults and £1 for juniors (under-20) and seniors (over-65).
