Chelsea's players were back at our Cobham training base on Friday ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa. Here we look at some of the standout pictures from today's session.

The Blues returned from Germany in the early hours of the morning following Thursday night's 2-0 win over Heidenheim and were quickly back to work.

Goals from Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk helped Chelsea continue their 100 per cent start to life in the Conference League group phase, and you can read a full match report from Heidenheim vs Chelsea here.

Marc Cucurella was one of the players who didn't feature at the Voith-Arena last night and will be hoping to push for a starting place this weekend.

Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia were also among those who trained at Cobham today having not travelled to Germany as Enzo Maresca looks to manage his players during what will be a long season, with Cole Palmer, Wesley Fofana and Nicolas Jackson also staying at home but hoping to be involved at the weekend.

Focus quickly turned to Sunday's match and our Maresca has been previewing Chelsea against Aston Villa this afternoon, including talking about his midfield options.

Chelsea winning 2-0 on Thursday night despite those players not featuring shows the strength in depth available to Maresca and the Italian has been talking about the competition for places this afternoon.

Joao Felix and Benoit Badiashile's performances this season helped earn the pair starting places in last weekend's 2-1 win over Leicester City and both men were working hard once more today, as was the whole squad.

Sunday's match is being shown live on Sky Sports in the UK and via local Premier League TV rights holders in other countries, with kick-off at 1.30pm GMT.
