The Chelsea squad were back out on the training pitch at Cobham on Thursday working hard, with preparations for our opening match of this season's FA Cup campaign in full swing.
With a full week to prepare for our FA Cup third-round tie against League Two side Morecambe, which kicks off at Stamford Bridge at 3pm on Saturday, the hard work continued at Cobham on Thursday, as Enzo Maresca put his squad through their paces out on the training pitch.
Following the 1-1 draw away at Crystal Palace in the Premier League in our last match, the Blues are aiming to get back to winning ways on home soil this weekend, and continue our excellent record in the FA Cup in recent years by successfully progressing through the third round for the 27th time out of 28 seasons.
There was plenty of athletic work at Cobham on Thursday, ahead of what is always likely to be a physical encounter, against lower-league opposition visiting a Premier League stadium intent on causing a historic FA Cup upset.
Among those out on the training pitch on Thursday was Filip Jorgensen, who has minded the Chelsea net in cup competitions so far. The goalkeeper has kept four clean sheets in 10 appearances in the Carabao Cup and UEFA Conference League this season so the No.1 position is likely to be a topic Maresca is asked about during his pre-match press conference on Friday.
Young defender Aaron Anselmino was also out on the grass training at Cobham on Thursday, after returning from his loan with Boca Juniors in his homeland Argentina earlier this month.
The 19-year-old had made 18 appearances in all competitions for Boca this season before injury in November.
