There is no let-up in the fixture schedule for Chelsea, and Enzo Maresca and his players got back to work at Cobham this morning to begin preparations for our third match in the space of eight days.

We returned to action following the international break with back-to-back London derbies in the Premier League.

Enzo Fernandez’s header from Cole Palmer’s pinpoint delivery gave us a deserved, if hard-fought, 1-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening.

That was followed by a 0-0 draw away at Brentford on Sunday, when we had to settle for a single point despite being on top for much of the game.

The fixtures continue to come thick and fast, though. Next up, attention switches to continental competition, as we travel to Poland to take on Legia Warsaw in the first leg of our UEFA Conference League quarter-final.

Before we travel abroad, the preparations got underway at Cobham, with Maresca and his squad returning to the training pitch after a day to rest and recuperate from those two derbies in quick succession.

We have gone two games in succession without conceding, and have let in just one goal across five games.

With a clean sheet in the away game of a two-legged European tie always boosting a team’s chances of progression, especially when the away leg is first, the Blues are working hard to continue that impressive defensive resilience in the Polish capital.

‘Back-to-back clean sheets are always important, and we’ll be hoping to take that into final few games of the season,’ said defender Tosin Adarabioyo, after the draw at Brentford.

‘We go to Warsaw on Thursday and we will hope to get a positive result to take back with us to Stamford Bridge.’

Chelsea will be training at Cobham again on Wednesday morning, and the first part of the session will be shown live on the official Chelsea website.

The squad then departs for Poland, where Maresca will hold his pre-match press conference alongside one of his players at the Legia Warsaw Stadium. It will be shown live on the Official Chelsea website and app.
