Sunshine greeted the Chelsea players at Cobham today as preparations for our Premier League clash against West Ham United continued.

Enzo Maresca and his players are coming toward the end of a rare full week of work at our Surrey training base as the Hammers, who will have former Chelsea head coach Graham Potter in the dugout, do not visit Stamford Bridge until Monday evening.

The Blues will be looking to pick up from where we left off on home soil; our last outing in SW6 resulted in a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Marc Cucurella was on the scoresheet in that win and the Spaniard was among the Chelsea players involved in today's session.

Work started for the Blues in the first-team gym before the players ventured out onto the pristine pitches to train under the watch of Maresca and his staff.

Two other players involved in today's session were Academy graduates Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George, who joined the Blues as Under-8s and officially moved to the first-team squad earlier this season.

Their friendship has played an important role in their development and ensured a smoother transition into the senior game.

'Josh has always been a good friend, even since we were young. He is a good person to speak to away from football as well,' Tyrique explained in an exclusive joint interview. 'We probably speak every day.

‘Growing up we would go to training, go to the gym together, and do things like playing at Powerleague. We were always getting that work in so we could be sitting here today.’

Josh, who was handed his first Premier League start earlier this month against Crystal Palace, also highlighted how senior players in the squad have helped him settle.

He said: ‘A lot of players have helped me but I would say Reece [James], Levi [Colwill] and Tosin [Adarabioyo] have probably helped me the most.

‘On the pitch, they help me out a lot but also off the pitch, they remind me about things like going into the gym, doing the extras and making sure the standards stay high.’

That Premier League match against the Hammers takes place on Monday evening, with kick-off at the Bridge set for 8pm. Supporters in the UK can watch it live on Sky Sports, and we will be providing live updates of all the build-up, action and reaction in our Chelsea vs West Ham United Match Centre.
