The first group Chelsea players returned to Cobham from international duty to rejoin their team-mates in training on Wednesday.

The last batch of matches during the March international break were played last night, meaning several Blues are now back at Cobham after representing their countries, as preparations pick up pace ahead of the return of Premier League action this weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino and his staff were working with the available members of his squad out on the training pitch on Wednesday as well as a session in the gym.

Among those returning to training today were England duo Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer, although Ben Chilwell was not involved after playing the full 90 minutes of the Three Lions' 2-2 draw with Brazil yesterday evening.

Having also played more than an hour against Brazil over the weekend, it was a promising sign for Chilwell, who made his return from injury as a late substitute in Chelsea's last game before the break, the 4-2 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

There was also recovery work for those coming back from international duty, including goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, who made his third senior start for Serbia over the March break, in their match against Russia in Moscow.

Meanwhile, those who had remained at Cobham during the international break, both youngsters and more experienced members of the squad, continued their work preparing ahead of Saturday's match, when we host Burnley at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
