Enzo Maresca had the majority of his squad back at Cobham and out on the training pitch after the international break as preparations stepped up for our next match against Liverpool.

A large number of the Chelsea players have been absent from training over the last week while on national duty during the break, but with attentions now firmly fixed on the return of the Premier League this weekend, and the Blues' away trip to face leaders Liverpool on Sunday, they were back at Cobham for today's session.

That included the long-distance travellers, South American midfield duo Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, with the latter fresh from helping Argentina to an emphatic 6-0 victory over Bolivia in World Cup qualifying, during the early hours of Wednesday morning UK time.

Our Portuguese trio were also back, albeit from a shorter trip across to the continent, meaning skilful attackers Pedro Neto and Joao Felix were out on the pitch at Cobham, along with the latest inductee to Chelsea's internationals Renato Veiga, who made his senior debut for Portugal in last week's 3-1 win away in Poland.

Another player no doubt returning from international duty in good spirits was forward Christopher Nkunku, after he netted his first goal for his country in France's 4-1 win over Israel, adding to the seven he has already scored for Chelsea in all competitions this season.

Of course, the returning internationals weren't the only ones in action at Cobham on Thursday, and captain Reece James continued to work on his return to fitness following the injury he suffered during pre-season, having rejoined his team-mates in training earlier this week.
