The last of Chelsea's players returned to Cobham from international duty on Thursday as Enzo Maresca and his squad stepped up preparations ahead of the upcoming trip to Leicester City.
The Premier League resumes this weekend, starting with the early Saturday kick-off of Chelsea against Leicester at King Power Stadium.
The match kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday and will be shown live on TNT Sports in the UK and via local Premier League TV rights holders in other countries.
After a week of reduced numbers at our training ground with players away representing their countries, everyone was back at Cobham on Thursday afternoon and turning their attention to the Blues' next match.
That means Maresca had almost a full squad at his disposal on the training pitch, with Reece James the only absentee, although our head coach admits some players will need to be assessed before deciding if they are available to face Leicester following their midweek exertions abroad.
‘We have, for sure, just one injured player and that is Reece,' said the Italian. 'Unfortunately, he felt something small and we do not want to take a risk with him at the weekend. He is the only one for sure who is not available for this weekend.
‘The rest, some of them are better and some of them are a doubt, plus we need to wait because today is the first session we do with all of the players from international duty so we will see after today’s session.
'As I said, some of them are better, some we will test today. But overall, for sure, they are much better.’
Enzo also admitted these periods are not easy, as he reintegrates the players who have travelled with the members of his squad who remained at Cobham during the the international break, requiring him to balance the need to prepare for Saturday's match with not overloading those who have had a busy week.
