The Blues were out on the Cobham training pitch on Wednesday morning as the early stages of pre-season continued to gather momentum.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca took his players out on the training pitch for a single session in the morning on day three of pre-season 2024, as he continues the work of getting to know his new squad after joining the club this summer.

The Italian had previously stressed how important this stage of pre-season can be, as he gets the chance to work hands on with his players for the first time.

‘It’s very important because we need to know each other. I already feel I know all of them to be honest because I’ve watched so many games in the last two or three weeks, so feel I know all of them.

‘But it’s always different when you spend day-by-day with the person. You can see them through games, but when you spend day-by-day with the players, with the human beings, the people, you receive a different kind of feeling.'

Although a number of our internationals are yet to return to training due to their involvement in this summer's European Championship or Copa America, there were several of Maresca's potential key players involved, along with several who spent last season on loan and others from our Academy.
