After returning from our summer tour of the USA, the Blues have been back on the grass at Cobham to prepare for Sunday's visit of Inter Milan.

Those who travelled Stateside were given a day off on Thursday to spend time with family and get over any jet lag. Enzo Maresca's squad then returned to Cobham to prepare for our final warm-up game of the summer.

There was the welcome sight of newly crowned European champion Marc Cucurella involved with the group after his return for pre-season training.

Also back at Cobham after his time off was Cole Palmer. The 22-year-old – England's goalscorer in the Euro 2024 final against Cucurella's Spain, who went on to clinch victory – enjoyed a delayed break and wasn't part of our tour in the U.S.

Whether either player features against Inter remains to be seen. That is a call Maresca and his staff must make ahead of a first outing in the home dugout at Stamford Bridge.

General admission tickets for Sunday’s game are sold out, but Club Chelsea have availability starting from £60 for adults and £40 for juniors.

And Inter, the current Italian champions, will provide another stern test in front of the Blues faithful.

'I’m very excited,’ Maresca said ahead of the game. ‘Finally, we are at home and with our fans and we need them throughout the season.

'They are going to be very important for us and the players because in these moments we need support. We are going to enjoy it together.'

Blues forward Mykhailo Mudryk has recent experience of taking on Sunday's opponents, having come up against Inter Milan in the Champions League group stages in the 2021/22 season with former club Shakhtar Donetsk.

'I played against them and they were such a good team,’ the Ukraine international said. ‘They always know what they want and they are very good.

‘It’s always exciting to play in front of our fans. I really enjoy this level of support and it’s going to be cool to play again in front of them.’

There could be several maiden Stamford Bridge outings against Inter, with our new summer signings hoping to take to the stage on home turf for the first time as Chelsea players.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Renato Veiga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Marc Guiu were among the summer additions undertaking work on the training pitches ahead of our clash with Inter – which you can watch live on the official Chelsea website and Official Chelsea App.
