There was no time to waste as the Blues got back to work at Cobham for a quick turnaround between matches ahead of Sunday's London derby.
With only two days to work for Enzo Maresca and his squad between matches, there was a day of recovery and early preparations at Cobham on Friday.
Having defeated Copenhagen 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening, to book our place in the quarter-finals of this season's UEFA Conference League, we must reset quickly before travelling across the capital to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The preparations for that meeting with the Gunners got underway at Cobham today, with the Chelsea players at work in the gym and out on the training pitch ahead of that game.
We will have the opportunity to halve the deficit in the Premier League table to second-place Arsenal to three points with victory at the Emirates Stadium - which would be our fifth win in a row in all competitions, with the two legs against Copenhagen joined by league victories over Southampton and Leicester City.
'Our target and duty is to close that gap between us and them,' said Maresca, speaking to the media ahead of the match against Arsenal.
'In this moment, the table shows the difference is six points, so we are quite close and have 10 games to go.
‘We’re not focused on whether they can be three, six or nine points ahead. We are focused on our game and how we try to beat them. Hopefully, we can beat them and we will be closer.’
