Chelsea Foundation hosted some special community day guests yesterday, providing unforgettable memories to three Blues fans who deserve a special experience.
As part of the day, the group watched Enzo Maresca put his squad through their paces, enjoyed photo and autograph opportunities with their heroes, and had a Q&A session with the club’s head of performance medicine Craig Roberts.
Cataleya Tarnawa attended the session with her parents and grandparents and her mum said: ‘Cataleya was born in the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and we live five minutes away from Stamford Bridge so Chelsea is a very important part of our lives. She loves Enzo! Thank you so much to everyone for an incredible day.’
Jools Jones watched along with his mum and dad. ‘We only told him last night, so it was a big surprise,’ said his mum. ‘He is obsessed with Chelsea and loves watching old YouTube videos. Jools’ favourite players are Cole Palmer and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.’
Rodney Katchay joined with his friend Adam. Rodney and Adam met in a pub prior to a Chelsea game in 2014 and have formed a firm friendship, following the Blues everywhere together since. ‘We’ve been some incredible places together following Chelsea. Even though Rodney has been in hospital I knew we couldn’t miss this opportunity, so we were thrilled that he could make it’, said Adam.
Rodney movingly explained how Chelsea provide him with drive and inspiration in the most difficult of circumstances, saying: ‘When the team keep fighting, I keep fighting. They give me the motivation to keep going.’
