We can confirm the offer made by Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes to buy free hot dogs for supporters at Wednesday evening’s rearranged fixture against Liverpool will be fulfilled.
Ticket holders arriving before kick-off will be able to claim one hot dog per person*, with vegan options available. Hot dogs will need to be collected before entering the stadium. The trading units will be positioned in the stadium car park and staff will be on hand to advise supporters on the day.
The original WSL game against Liverpool in January was abandoned due to a frozen pitch.
'I just feel gutted for you guys that have come out and I promise you I'll buy you all a hot dog if you come to the next game. Thank you for coming,’ Hayes said to the fans present that day.
In her pre-match press conference this week she added: ‘It's a small token of appreciation for the fans that came out that day. I offered a hot dog not realising we don't sell hot dogs so we've had to source them in. Following 10 years working in America, I didn't think of a burger quicker than I did a hot dog!’
