Thanks to Chelsea Foundation’s latest community day, more Chelsea fans have been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet their heroes.
A number of Chelsea supporters who have been going through difficult times were invited into Cobham along with their families for an exclusive visit to the training ground.
The special guests were treated to a Q&A with Chelsea legend Carlo Cudicini, before heading out to training pitch to watch the likes of Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Reece James hard at work.
One of the guests, Sasha Bingham, said: ‘It’s surreal seeing them in person. I haven’t been able to get to many games recently because I haven’t been well so this has been really special. It was my 21st birthday at the weekend and this has been the most amazing birthday present I could have wished for.’
Following training, the squad and Graham Potter made their way over to meet the special guests and sign memorabilia, with Aiden Bartlett even challenging Kante to a race!
Aiden said: ‘He’s my favourite midfielder but I’d love to give him a race. It’s been a really great day to meet all of the players and have my shirt signed by them all, they are all so nice.’
Liam O’Beirne was particularly eager to meet his idol Mason Mount, who signed a shirt for Liam and posed for photos. Liam said: ‘It was absolutely brilliant to meet Mason and for him to sign my shirt, unbelievable! It’s been a very good day and I’m so happy.’
