It was a steady first half of action with very little in the way of clear-cut chances. Despite, most notably, the Blues having a penalty overturned by VAR, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen had to remain alert making a string of saves before the break to keep the game level.

After the interval, the Blues wasted no time as Christopher Nkunku broke the deadlock inside five minutes to send the travelling Chelsea supporters into raptures.

Meanwhile, at the other end, the Danish shot-stopper made another double save to maintain his clean sheet and Chelsea's 100 per cent record in the competition.
