Filipe Coelho's squad made it back-to-back Premier League 2 wins with two first-half goals against Manchester United at Kingsmeadow on Friday evening, securing all three points and sparking big home celebrations.
It was a fiery contest from the start, full of intensity and aggression. But Chelsea wasted no time in taking control, breaking the deadlock just a quarter of an hour in through schoolboy Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, who marked his first Under-21s start with a maiden goal at this level, a beautifully-taken finish.
The move began deep in our half, where Samuel Rak-Sakyi picked up possession and played a stunning long ball over the top. Our winger controlled it expertly, took on his marker, and fired a slick finish into the bottom corner.
We weren’t done there. Ato Ampah, a constant menace from the first whistle, doubled our lead with a ruthless finish one minute before the interval. Under-18s midfielder Landon Emenalo delivered a pinpoint pass to Ronnie Stutter, whose clever flick found Ampah in stride. He weaved his way into the box before unleashing a venomous strike, leaving the Manchester United keeper helpless.
After the break, both teams had chances, but we stayed compact and resilient, protecting our advantage to claim an eighth Premier League 2 win of the 2024/25 season.
