It’s time to find out more about summer signing Oriane Jean-Francois! We asked our French midfielder some Chelsea and USA themed questions in the last of our tour series.
The 23-year-old joined the Blues from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, before linking up with her Chelsea teammates firstly at Cobham and then throughout our pre-season tour in America.
With those in the team getting to know Oriane over the last few weeks, now fans can find out more about the person behind the player...
Who is your favourite American sportsperson?
Simone Biles.
She’s amazing. I watched her during the Olympics. It was great to see how she has come back after everything.
What three word would you use to describe Chelsea FC?
Great, ambitious, and family.
What is your first football memory?
I would say playing with my dad and my brother.
We used to spend time together just kicking the ball. I must’ve been about five or six years old.
What U.S landmark would you most like to visit?
We were in Washington, so I’ll say the White House.
If you could play with any Chelsea player, past or present, who would it be?
From the men’s team, I’d have to say Florent Malouda because he’s from the same place as me, and maybe Didier Drobga, too.
From the women’s team, Fran Kirby.
What has been your favourite part of tour so far?
The first game against Gotham. It was an amazing atmosphere to be there and to see the girls score so fast in the game. It was a good moment.
Off the pitch, the WNBA game. I like basketball, but basketball does not like me!
What three word would you use to describe yourself?
Humble, positive, and generous.
Who is the best player you have ever played with and why?
Wendie Renard.
She’s one of the greatest players of our time and ever. I used to watch her on TV, so to actually play with her was an honour.
What would you say is the biggest achievement of your career so far?
I have one title in my career. It was with the Under-19s national team and we won the European Championships.
What are you most excited for at Chelsea this season?
To win the four competitions! That’s why I came to the club and I think we’re working in a good way to achieve that.
Do you have a pre-match routine or superstition?
My socks always have to be the same height.
What is the best game you’ve ever watched?
The Champions League final when Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties.
