Hannah Hampton hopes to continue being a pillar of guidance within Chelsea's goalkeeper union after learning from the best - Zecira Musovic.

With Musovic unavailable to feature for the Blues for the rest of the season after announcing the happy news of her pregnancy, Hampton is now the most senior available Chelsea goalkeeper.

The 24-year-old England international hopes to be a beacon of experience for our young goalkeepers Katie Cox and Femke Liefting, who joined the club on deadline day in January.

This week, the Blues have been preparing to face Everton for the second weekend in a row having defeated the Toffees 4-1 in the fifth round of the FA Cup last Sunday. And in training, Hampton says, spirits have been good as our goalkeeper union continues to motivate each other.

'It has hit home now that I'm the old one in the group!' Hampton said. 'They look up to me for my experience, but I do still feel like a big kid most of the time.

'Having Femke and Katie, they're both so eager to learn and improve. They are both going to have big futures and I can see that every day. The fans who watch them in the warm-ups probably see that too.

'They are both different goalkeepers in themselves. Coxy is an unbelievable shot-stopper and is confident with her feet. Femke is the same and her range of passing is unbelievable. There are things I want to learn from them in the way they do things.

'It's nice that we have each other to help improve. We've got such a competitive, but friendly goalkeeper group.'

'I want to share as much of an insight as I possibly can,' Hampton added. 'But for me, still having Zecira around us and in training - maybe not diving around or throwing herself on the floor, but having her with us is still so important.'

And even though Musovic won't be in match action or full training with the other goalkeepers during her pregnancy, she remains an incredibly important presence within the team.

She will continue, Hampton says, to be a valuable source of guidance, as she has been during their entire time working together at the Blues.

'Huge,' Hampton immediately responded when we asked how big an influence Musovic has been throughout her time at Chelsea. 'More so than what I think she realises.

'Being able to learn from a goalkeeper of her calibre and all of the experiences she's had - from having unbelievable World Cups with the Swedish national team - really is invaluable.

'I can only improve from working with Z. She's maybe taking a different role in training now, but I can still learn from her technical and tactical understanding of the game. That's a huge boost not only for myself but for Femke and Katie, too.'

The Blues are back in Women's Super League action tomorrow afternoon for the first time in a fortnight, but against opposition they faced only a week ago in the FA Cup.

Sonia Bompastor's side prevailed with a 4-1 win against Everton in the fifth round, coming from 1-0 down to secure comfortable progession to the next round. Off the back of that encounter, Hampton is confident of the imminent challenge ahead, but is also aware of any variation that they may be thrown her way.

'We know what Everton can bring,' Hampton explained. 'We have had a whole week to prepare ourselves going into this week, but so will they.

'They could change and completely throw us off, so we have to be prepared for that. We know what we have to do. We need to stick to our game plan and go out there and get the three points.'
