Harvey Vale has completed a permanent transfer to Championship club Queens Park Rangers.
Joining our Academy as an Under-13, Harvey impressed as he moved through the youth ranks at Cobham and featured nine times for our Under-18s while a schoolboy during the 2019/20 season.
He signed his first professional contract in September 2020 and by the end of that campaign was playing regularly for our Under-21s.
The 2021/22 season proved a memorable one for Harvey, as he was handed his senior Chelsea debut as a starter in our Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Brentford.
Harvey then embarked on loan spells at Hull City and Bristol Rovers – 47 appearances were made for the latter during 2024/25 – and he featured twice for the Blues this season under Enzo Maresca.
We thank Harvey for his contributions throughout his time as a Chelsea player and wish him well for the future.
Also departing is defender Somto Boniface, who has completed a transfer to Ipswich Town. Somto joined the Blues as an Under-9 and featured for our Under-18s and Under-21s sides.
Travis Akomeah has signed for Championship side Watford. The defender joined Chelsea as an Under-16 from the Hornets, captained our Under-18s last term, and made the step up to Under-21s football earlier this season.
And Zak Sturge will spend the remainder of the campaign on loan at Championship club Millwall. A versatile defender, Zak joined the Blues in August 2022 and spent time on loan last season at Peterborough United.
We wish Somto and Travis well as they embark on new chapters in their careers and look forward to supporting Zak during his loan spell.
