Kai Havertz has departed Chelsea after three seasons at Stamford Bridge and completed a move across London to Arsenal.
The German international will forever have a place in Chelsea history having scored the winning goals in the 2021 Champions League final and the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup final.
Havertz also lifted the UEFA Super Cup during his time as a Chelsea player, that trophy was claimed after a victory over Villarreal in Belfast.
The 24-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen with a reputation as one of European football’s brightest young talents.
After an initial period of adaptation, Havertz established himself as a key figure in the Chelsea attack. His first campaign ended with nine goals and a Champions League winner's medal after that memorable strike in Porto against Manchester City.
Havertz continued to be a versatile and important player in the Chelsea frontline in his second season. He netted 14 goals in all competitions, the most important of which came in extra time of the Club World Cup final against Palmeiras. Havertz showed great composure to step up and convert a 117th-minute penalty to help the Blues to victory.
His 20 goal involvements across that campaign was a total only bettered by Mason Mount. Last term, he finished as Chelsea’s top goalscorer in the Premier League with seven.
The German now moves on but leaves with his name etched into Chelsea folklore. We are grateful to Kai for his efforts throughout his time at Stamford Bridge and wish him well.
