Emma Hayes has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Chelsea Women’s WSL meeting with Liverpool on Sunday.
Hayes, speaking at Cobham 48 hours before kick-off at Kingsmeadow, confirmed everybody came through the Arsenal game unscathed, although she was quick to point out there were two more training sessions before we welcome Liverpool to Kingston.
‘I always find that question hard to answer because in football environments it might be you don’t actually know until the moment of kick-off who you have in the entire squad,’ said Hayes.
‘Sometimes you have to manage the loads in the training week, and sometimes you might have little niggles that need managing.
‘In terms of having everyone available from last week I would say probably the same, but then again I won’t know until Saturday.’
The Blues started the campaign with defeat away to Liverpool in the reverse fixture, and Hayes underlined the significance of the work done at Cobham this week to ensure there is no repeat on Sunday.
‘They are the only team to beat us in the league this year. Our performance on that day was not at our level, for me the most interesting or important thing for me is that it’s an even better training session today than it was yesterday.
‘I am so focused on what I can control at the minute, that all my attention is what I do on the grass. I want to go and coach and demand the intensity from this team to find another level.
‘I haven’t picked a team yet,’ added Hayes when asked about the possibility of rotating her squad ahead of a busy week.
‘Today’s session will play the most important part in that decision making. I am looking forward to seeing how that goes.
‘All these players are good enough to start, and I can only pick 11, but I will pick 11 based on what’s being done out there ahead of the game.’
