Following his retirement from football, we remind ourselves why we loved watching Eden Hazard play in a Chelsea shirt by recalling our favourite goals from the Belgian winger. Which do you think was his best?
Eden Hazard always had a footballing style that was easy on the eye and provided plenty of excitement, with his flair and skill making him a nightmare for opponents to defend against but a dream for the Blues supporters in the Stamford Bridge stands to watch.
He provided some truly spectacular moments during his seven years with Chelsea, including some memorable strikes, winning our Goal of the Season award a record three times. All three of those unsurprisingly make our list as we pick out our favourite Hazard goals. You can relive them all below and tell us which one you think was his best in the poll at the end.
Stoke City 0-4 Chelsea, 12 January 2013
Hazard wasn't just about the silky skills. When he wanted to he could unleash an absolute rocket, as Stoke found out when he put the icing on the cake of our thrashing of the Potters in his first season at Chelsea. It was a truly unstoppable strike that left Eden's future Blues team-mate Asmir Begovic helpless. And it was with his weaker left foot!
Chelsea 2-2 Tottenham Hostpur, 2 May 2016
With seven minutes left of normal time Tottenham were leading 2-1 and still in the title race. Cue Eden's intervention to curl a sweet shot into the top corner. Chelsea had an equaliser and our London rivals Spurs' chances of becoming champions were officially over. The celebrations inside Stamford Bridge were only overshadowed by those in Leicester, as the goal sealed the Premier League trophy for N'Golo Kante's Foxes.
Chelsea 3-1 Arsenal, 4 February 2017
There's unstoppable and then there's Eden Hazard! Even fouling him doesn't work, just as Francis Coquelin. Our Belgian's brilliant solo run began in our own half, with Coquelin all over the back of Hazard, only to end up sprawled on his backside himself. That left Eden free to charge into the box while the referee waved advantage and bamboozle Laurent Koscielny before dinking a cheeky finish over Petr Cech.
Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea, 26 September 2018
What a way to win a game at Anfield! Two goals in six minutes completed a brilliant comeback from a goal down to knock Liverpool out in the League Cup third round, and the quality of Hazard's winner made it all the sweeter. Thunderbolt of a finish - check. Nutmeg - double check. It started with a slick piece of pass and move before Hazard just took matters into his own hands, slaloming through defenders and smashing a shot inside the far post.
Chelsea 2-0 West Ham United, 8 April 2019
Hazard's final two Premier League goals for Chelsea both came in this victory over West Ham. They were typically fine goals from the winger, but it was the first which really stood out. There were no less than six Hammers between Hazard and the goal when he received the ball from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but since when did that ever stop Eden? Some incredibly quick feet later and they were all behind him, as he carved a path straight thought the middle of the defence, before slotting into the back of the net. Not a bad parting gift from the Blues legend!
