Academy winger Omari Hutchinson has been nominated alongside others for the PL2 Player of the Month award. This makes it consecutive months that the dynamic winger has received a nomination for this award. Hutchinson receives this nomination off the back of his performances in the month of October.

In an action-packed October that saw our development squad play five PL2 games, Omari Hutchinson registered three goals and two assists.

He now sits two goals and two assists off top spot in both departments. His performances this month in particular have seen him train more regularly with the first team as well as being named on the bench for Chelsea’s game at Brighton Hove & Albion in the Premier League.

The winner of the award will be chosen by the Premier League Football Development panel after PL2 clubs’ coaches nominated the best performances by opposing players in each league fixture in the month. The other nominated players are Harry Leonard (Blackburn Rovers), Charlie Whitaker (Everton), Michael O’Neil (Fulham), Shola Shoretire (Manchester United), Joe White (Newcastle United) and Ateef Konate (Nottingham Forest).

Our development squad will be in action for their final PL2 game of the year against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Monday at Kingsmeadow. That game will be live streamed on our platforms.
