Leicester City did not make it easy for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge yesterday, but our fourth consecutive home victory was secured thanks to an excellent strike from distance from Marc Cucurella.
The Blues controlled much of the contest - and that was despite a late overhaul to the game plan due to Leicester deploying a back-five formation for the first time under Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Cole Palmer, playing through illness, had the opportunity to put us ahead midway through the opening period but, for the first time in his career, didn’t convert from the penalty spot as Mads Hermansen saved.
Leicester battled well but the Blues finally made the breakthrough on the hour mark as Cucurella’s low drive skimmed off the turf and found the corner.
That proved enough for the Blues to secure three points that have taken us back into the Premier League top four. We have picked out our favourite images from yesterday’s win below. Enjoy!
