February means it's time for the first women’s international break of 2024, and the majority of the Chelsea squad will be representing their respective nations in various corners of the globe.
It's a big couple of weeks on the international stage in the women's game, with the finals of the inaugural UEFA Nations League tournament the big focus in Europe. Over on the other side of the Atlantic, the Concacaf W Gold Cup finals get underway.
While Sam Kerr and Millie Bright miss out on the chance to represent their countries due to injury – they continue to work back towards fitness at Cobham – plenty of Chelsea stars have been called up.
Here's a look at those will be jetting off for international action and the matches taking place in Europe and around the globe.
Lionesses return to action
Although they were unable to reach the Nations League tournament finals this time around, England do play twice over the upcoming international break. Sarina Wiegman's team are heading to Marbella, Spain for warm weather training but will also face both Austria and Italy in friendlies.
Defenders Jess Carter and Niamh Charles, goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, midfielder Fran Kirby, and forward Lauren James are all once again selected.
Wiegman's side are beginning preparations for defending their European Championship title, with the 2025 qualifiers beginning later this year in April.
Nations League crunch time
The first ever UEFA Nations League finals take place in the February window, with the finalists qualifying for the Olympic Games tournament in Paris this summer.
Spain take on Netherlands in the first semi-final, with France facing Germany at the same time on Friday evening (8pm UK time)
Three of our Blues could feature in the second semi-final. Eve Perisset has been included in the France side while Ann-Katrin Berger and Sjoeke Nusken once again feature for Germany. The winner will advance to the tournament final which will be played the following Wednesday night.
The loser of the second semi-final will still have another game to play, with the third-place play off taking place the same night.
Gold Cup beckons for Mia
Mia Fishel is back in the United States squad after her breakthrough 2023 with the national team. She has been named in the USWNT roster for the 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup, hosted in four cities across the States.
Her side have been drawn in Group A, with their first fixture of the tournament against the Dominican Republic on Tuesday. The USWNT will also face Argentina and Mexico in the first round.
Should the US go all the way, Fishel will be away for the next three weeks, with the final on March 10. The Blues livewire forward will be looking to add to her three caps and one goal on the international stage to date.
And other Blues also feature at the finals over the coming weeks. Defenders Ashley Lawrence and Kadeisha Buchanan will be back in the Canada side for their Gold Cup campaign, in Group C alongside Costa Rica, El Salvador and Paraguay.
Elsewhere...
Midfielders Sophie Ingle and Erin Cuthbert are both away with their respective national sides over the next week. Cuthbert is looking to lead Scotland to the invitational Pinatar Cup, with a semi-final against Philippines taking place on Saturday, with a kick-off time of 1.05pm (UK time)
Ingle's Wales face the Republic of Ireland in a friendly on Tuesday night at 7.30pm. Jelena Cankovic features in the Serbia squad that have a double header against Iceland, with Nations League promotion at stake.
Meanwhile, Norwegian international duo Guro Reiten and Maren Mjelde are also involved in a Nations League decider. Norway's 3rd place finish in Group A2 last year means they must now beat Croatia over two legs to maintain a place in the top tier.
It's a similar story for Sweden who face Bosnia and Herzegovina over two legs, the first clash on Friday night with the return on the following Wednesday (28th) Goalkeeper Zecira Musovic and her fellow Blues Nathalie Bjorn and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd all feature in the squad.
Elsewhere, England under-23s will also jet off to Marbella, Spain to train alongside the senior Lionesses, and face games against Spain and Netherlands. And Blues forward Aggie Beever-Jones is part of the 23-player squad hoping to impress at international level.
