Sandy Baltimore struck a winner for France against Iceland in the Nations League while four other Blues were in action for their countries this evening.
Baltimore started the Group A2 fixture and France opened up a two-goal advantage after Lyon forward Kadidiatou Diani and Paris Saint-Germain striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto found the net inside the opening half-hour
Karolína Lea Vilhjalmsdottir pulled a goal back for Iceland before the interval. However, midway through the second period, Baltimore netted France's third of the evening with an excellent strike from 20 yards.
Ingibjorg Sigurdardottir quickly reduced the deficit for the visitors but Baltimore's goal proved the difference as Les Bleues saw out the game to collect the three points.
Meanwhile, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd played 83 minutes as Sweden were held to a surprise 1-1 draw at home to Wales in Group A4.
Filippa Angeldahl gave Sweden the lead just before the quarter-hour mark but it was one they couldn't build on and, with 15 minutes remaining, the visitors were awarded a penalty for handball by Emma Kullberg.
Kayleigh Barton stepped up and converted and Rytting Kaneryd was brought off in the closing stages as Sweden attempted to force a winner.
Wieke Kaptein started for the Netherlands as they recorded a 2-1 victory over Scotland in Group A1. The visitors to Hampden Park fell behind early on when Emma Lawton broke the deadlock shortly after the half hour.
But the Netherlands responded in the second period and levelled through Wolfsburg forward Lineth Beerensteyn before Chasity Grant scored what proved the winner in the 64th minute.
Kaptein completed the victory while defender Veerle Buurman, on loan at PSV Eindhoven, was an unused substitute.
Guro Reiten played 88 minutes as Norway beat Switzerland 2-1 for their first victory in the Nations League this season.
Manchester United forward Elisabeth Terland gave Norway the lead with just over a quarter of an hour remaining and Switzerland thought they were on their way to salvaging at least a point in Group A2 when Sydney Schertenleib equalised late on.
But Caroline Graham Hansen grabbed a winner in the 87th minute – and Reiten was substituted moments later as Norway secured three points.
Sjoeke Nusken played 45 minutes as Germany moved top of their Nations League group with a 4-1 win over second-placed Austria.
Annabel Schasching put Austria ahead after just three minutes before Laura Freigang equalised for Germany six minutes before the interval.
Germany went on to score another three times in the second half through Linda Dallmann, Giovanna Hoffmann and Vivien Endemann.
And finally, Ashley Lawrence played 90 minutes as Canada overcame Chinese Taipei 7-0 in the Pinatar Cup. Marie-Yasmine Alidou scored a first-half hat-trick, Jordyn Huitema bagged a brace, and there were also goals for Megan Reid and Clarissa Larisey.
