Nicolas Jackson claimed an assist for Senegal in their 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Chelsea forward joined up with his country having scored two goals in our opening three Premier League fixtures. He was deployed in a frontline alongside Ismaila Sarr and Sadio Mane and played an important role in the hosts' opener.

It was in the 16th minute that Jackson put defender Nasser Djiga under pressure in his own defensive third and was then able to prod the ball into the path of Mane, who ran through on goal and finished coolly.

Jackson played 82 minutes of the contest and Senegal appeared to be opening their qualifying campaign with a victory. That was until the dying seconds when Burkina Faso forward Ousseni Bouda converted from close range via a well-worked free kick.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen started for Denmark’s Under-21s during their 4-2 loss to Iceland at Víkingsvöllur in their Euro Under-21 qualifier.

Despite Denmark having taken the lead early on, Iceland responded and took the game out of sight of the young Danes.

It was a better night for fellow goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom, who played 90 minutes for Finland Under-21s in their 3-1 win over Armenia.

Chelsea duo Ollie Harrison and Shumaira Mheuka both featured for England Under-18s in their 1-1 draw with Switzerland at the Lafarge Tournament.

England were denied victory late on after Switzerland’s equaliser cancelled out Trevan Sanusi’s opener, with Mheuka hitting the post.

A penalty shootout was played following the draw which also ended level at 5-5, with Harrison converting his spot-kick for the Young Lions.

At Under-19 level, Harrison McMahon started for Scotland against the Faroe Islands and helped his country record a 5-3 victory at the Pinatar Arena.

Strikes from Ryan One, Rudi Allan-Molotnikov, Alfie Bavidge, Daniel Armer and an own goal, ensured that the spoils would be heading back to Scotland.

Finally, USA's Under-17s beat Czechia 4-0 in a resounding victory with Landon Emenalo starting the match in Mikulov.
