Johanna Rytting Kaneryd’s sublime volley against Tottenham Hotspur has been crowned Women's Super League Goal of the Month for October.

The 27-year-old scored twice in our 5-2 win against Spurs at Kingsmeadow, and her first was the pick of the bunch and deservedly earned the WSL honour.

Blues captain Millie Bright sent an inviting cross to the back post and Rytting Kaneryd used her instep to connect with the ball and volley it across the face of goal and into the far corner of the net.

It was a strike worthy of winning any award and one that Rytting Kaneryd - nominated for the same honour last month - said is one of the best goals she has scored in her career.

Rytting Kaneryd has made an impressive start to the season, netting three goals and registering two assists in the WSL. Her form earned her nominations for both September and October’s Player of the Month.

Our winger saw off stiff competition from Cornelia Kapocs (Liverpool), Marie Hobinger (Liverpool), Annabel Blanchard (Crystal Palace), Caitlin Foord (Arsenal), Elisabeth Terland (Manchester United), Khadija Shaw (Manchester City), Lauren Hemp (Manchester City), and Yuka Momiki (Leicester City) to win this month's Goal of the Month prize.

Congratulations, Jojo!
