Chelsea FC Women’s Jonna Andersson says the team will be taking each game as it comes, with the Blues preparing to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this afternoon.

Chelsea currently sit top of the league with four games remaining, one point above second-placed Arsenal.

The Blues most recently recorded a win over the Gunners in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final and Andersson discusses the mood in training this week following that victory.

‘It’s been good, it’s always of course nice to be back in training after a win. It’s just a few more games and important weeks coming so I feel it’s been a good mood and we’re looking forward to the last games.’

On the prospect of facing Spurs this afternoon, our No.25 added: ‘We need to prepare for a tough game, we have seen that Tottenham have played very well against a lot of teams and especially a few top teams. So, we need to prepare for a tough game and a team that of course will want to take points from us.

‘To win the title and to win the league you need to focus on each game. We can’t already look at United as the last game because if we don’t win the games before, we are not going to win the title.

‘For us it’s really important to focus on our next game and next opponent.’

All eyes are on this year’s title race, with it being the closest it’s ever been, Andersson described how it feels to play in these circumstances.

‘You need to have that pressure on you if you want to win the titles and win the trophies. We want to be up top of course and you need to handle that pressure as well, so I think we are doing it well and we want to be there.

‘It may be pressure, but I feel in our group we just want to go out, play and win the games.’

The Chelsea faithful have travelled up and down the country in their numbers this season, something the players have expressed their gratitude for.

‘They have always been amazing. They travel everywhere. It doesn’t matter where we play or what time we play during the week, this season and all the seasons they have been amazing, and it helps us as well when you can hear them in the stands.’

This afternoon’s clash against Spurs kicks off at 2:30pm and will be broadcast live on BBC One.
