Chelsea forward Lauren James has been named the Barclays Women's Super League Player of the Month for November, with five goals in two matches which helped us continue our unbeaten start to the season.
A busy fixture schedule saw us navigate six matches across the domestic and European fronts in November where we recorded four straight league victories, which sees us positioned at the top of the tree with a three-point advantage ahead of our return to WSL action after the international break.
We began the month with a ruthless 6-0 victory on the road against Aston Villa, followed by a 3-0 win away at Everton the following week. The goals continued to flow when we overcame Liverpool 5-1 at Stamford Bridge before closing out the month by beating Leicester City 5-2 at Kingsmeadow.
It was against Liverpool and Leicester where our award winner really shone. James lit up the Bridge with her first WSL hat-trick against Liverpool where she also provided the assist for Aggie Beever-Jones to score in front of the Shed End.
One week later, she scored twice in our thrilling victory over Leicester City at Kingsmeadow. This took her tally for the month to five goals in two league games and helped us towards three valuable points which maintained our unbeaten start to the campaign.
Congratulations on your award, Lauren!
