Introducing ‘Forty Two’ - a limited-edition shirt celebrating the Champions of Europe.
In collaboration with art-inspired brand Dodici Otto, 420 handcrafted shirts give fans the opportunity to honour that magical night in Porto, and relive the 42nd-minute Kai Havertz goal that made us the only team in London to win the competition… twice.
Key moments from the game are visually represented on the shirt, including Havertz’s iconic knee-slide celebration, N’Golo Kante’s man-of-the-match performance, Thomas Tuchel’s post-game reaction, the starting line-up and a nod towards the club being twice Champions League winners.
These moments have been digitally transformed into illustrations that have been hand printed onto the shirt.
The shirt is sold out online but is still available from the Stamford Bridge Megastore
The iconic club line ‘The Pride of London’ has also been enscripted on the shirt alongside ‘The Champions of Europe’, a line fans around the world have been singing ever since the triumph.
Each shirt will be delivered in a bespoke gifting box signed by Jordan, the artist who created the shirt.
With our Club Culture programme, we are working with the most exciting and innovative creative talent throughout the current season.
Artist Jordan founded Dodici Otto at the age of 19 in the summer of 2017 when he could not find a football shirt no one else had so decided to create his own. The concept of implementing his own designs onto shirts was developed just before Euro 2020. Dodici Otto is the translation in Italian for the date of his birthday.
Jordan found his designs became popular very fast so decided to start selling them and was able to offer one-off bespoke designs.
The design process starts by watching an important game such as the Champions League final. He then documents key moments such as the goals scored, phrases from pre- and post-match interviews, man-of-the-match stats, and players. He then creates illustrations to reflect these moments and a shirt can take as little as an hour to create.
‘This is niche because I don’t think there is anyone in the world doing that!’ Jordan says. ‘For me and a lot of other people, different football shirts hold different memories and sentimental values, as they remind us of different times in our lives. To be able to tell stories on them through my designs is really quite special!’
Jordan also uses his work to support grassroots football. ‘Through Dodici Otto I sponsor a few grassroots football clubs and tournaments. I mentor and create work for various big and small businesses across various industries, mainly across the UK. I want to inspire the younger generation, more specifically ethnic or disadvantaged backgrounds, as I think there needs to be examples of people for them to look up and aspire to be like.’
