Romelu Lukaku’s first Stamford Bridge strike has been voted by Chelsea supporters as our Goal of the Month for September.

The centre-forward got off the mark in August with his maiden goal for the Blues in our win at Arsenal and followed that up with a brace on his first appearance back at the Bridge 20 days later.

It is the first of that double that has won this month’s goal vote, the opener in a 3-0 victory that owed much to Mateo Kovacic’s quick feet and vision from his own half to set the Belgian on his way.

Lukaku then did the rest in three decisive touches, cutting inside to leave Axel Tuanzebe stranded and then slotting a tidy finish underneath the goalkeeper in front of a jubilant Shed End.

You can relive the goal in all its glory in the video below…

Lukaku’s goal was one of seven nominated for our September Goal of the Month award, with over 22,000 votes cast by Blues supporters, and won 38 per cent of the vote.

Our number nine also finished runner-up in the poll for his second strike in the Villa win earning a quarter off all votes cast, while Chelsea Women’s Danish forward Pernille Harder came third with an incredible solo run and dinked finish against Manchester United that won 18 per cent.
