The Chelsea full-back, who spent the second part of last season on loan at Champions League-finalists Borussia Dortmund, was originally on Holland’s provisional list but will now join up with the full squad after being selected by Ronald Koeman to replace Barcelona midfielder De Jong.

Maatsen will join up with the Dutch squad in Wolfsburg at their training camp, ahead of their opening game against Poland in Hamburg on Sunday.

The Netherlands are joined in Group D with France, Austria and Poland.
