Ian Maatsen’s stunning performance in Burnley’s win away at Norwich takes centre stage as our loan Performance of the Week.
The Dutch youth international put in a fine display as the Clarets moved seven points clear at the top of the Championship table with victory at Carrow Road, with the wing-back named Player of the Match.
Maatsen supplied an assist for Burnley’s third goal, which came via substitute Hjalmar Ekdal, to secure all three points after Vincent Kompany’s side had already raced into a two-goal lead courtesy of strikes from Anass Zaroury and Vitinho.
The Blues loanee was the star performer, creating three chances for Burnley, winning 67 per cent of his duels and ending the game with a 84 per cent successful passes rating.
He also had five recoveries as well as his assist for the third goal, with his Player of the Match award a deserved prize as the Clarets opened up a 17-point cushion on third place in the race for promotion to the Premier League.
Well played, Ian!
