Malo Gusto has withdrawn from the France Under-21 squad because of a thigh injury, the French Football Federation has confirmed.

The right-back had been due to link up with Les Espoirs for their forthcoming Under-21 European Championship qualifying fixtures against Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but suffered a thigh injury during the second half of our game against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The issue has forced Gusto to withdraw from new head coach Gerald Baticle's squad, which still contains Lesley Ugochukwu, who is on loan at Southampton this season. Gusto will continue his recovery at Cobham.

The French Football Federation confirmed on Sunday that Wesley Fofana had withdrawn from the senior squad after a conversation with head coach Didier Deschamps as the defender looks to manage his return to action following a long injury lay-off, having played the full 90 minutes in all three of our Premier League games so far.

England have also confirmed Omari Kellyman was forced to pull out of the England Elite Squad, formerly the Under-20s, after he sustained an injury last week.
