One match separates Chelsea Women and a place in the Continental Tyres League Cup final, and it's a big one as we travel to Manchester City in the semis on Thursday evening.
Having got a busy March schedule off to a winning start by defeating Leicester City 4-0 on Sunday, Chelsea switch attention to the second of the four tournaments we will be competing in this month with a Continental Tyres League Cup semi-final.
We face a tough challenge to book our place in the final at Molineux, though, as we travel away to Manchester City, one of only two teams to have beaten the Blues in any competition so far this season.
When and where?
The Blues take on Manchester City at their Joie Stadium on the evening of Thursday 7 March. Kick-off is at 7.15pm (UK time).
How to follow
As always, you can follow the game via Chelsea Women’s social media channels. There will be live commentary on our Twitter page and regular updates on Facebook and Instagram. Simply search ‘ChelseaFCW’ on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
For supporters who are unable to attend the match, it will be shown live by the BBC on iPlayer and the Red Button, as well as on the FA Player.
The form
Chelsea and City currently occupy the top two spots in the Women's Super League table, with the Blues edging first place on goal difference. We have won 11 of our last 12 matches in all competitions, although the exception was last month's narrow league defeat to Man City.
Due to our participation in this season's Champions League, the Blues entered the Continental Tyres League Cup in the quarter-final stage, where we comfortably defeated Sunderland 5-0 thanks to a pair of braces by Sjoeke Nusken and Fran Kirby, either side of Aggie Beever-Jones' goal.
Our next opponents reached this stage by finishing top of Group B, one point ahead of local rivals Manchester United, before a 1-0 win in a tight quarter-final at Tottenham Hotspur.
Man City vs Chelsea: Head-to-head record
We have already faced Manchester City twice in the Women's Super League this season and they have proven themselves to be tough opposition on both occasions.
The first came in October at the Joie Stadium, the venue for Thursday's meeting. We fell behind early on to Chloe Kelly's deflected shot, but a dramatic game saw the home side reduced to nine players by red cards for Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp before Guro Reiten secured a point from a corner in the sixth minute of added time.
However, at Kingsmeadow in February, Man City inflicted the Blues' first home league defeat for 33 matches, the damage done by another early goal, this time scored by Bunny Shaw.
Next up for the Blues
The knockout action continues with another away tie at the weekend. This time it will be in the Women's FA Cup quarter-finals at Everton on Sunday 10 March. Kick-off is at 1pm (UK time).
