Marc Cucurella was pleased to secure our place in the final four of the Conference League despite a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Legia Warsaw in the second leg, with the full-back urging the Blues to stick ‘together’ ahead of the 'most important part of the season'.

It was a disappointing night at Stamford Bridge as the Blues conceded twice to our opponents after securing a 3-0 lead in the Polish capital last week. Although Legia broke the deadlock, we enjoyed moments of positivity during the contest, including Cucurella’s equaliser, but the visitors would eventually make us pay for missed opportunities and find a winner.

Although the Spaniard believes it was crucial to secure a final-four tie against Swedish side Djurgarden, he was frustrated with how the game panned out.

‘The most important thing is that we are in the semi-finals and we fight to play in the final, so that’s good, but for sure we want to win all the games,’ Cucurella opened, speaking after the contest.

‘I think today is a bit similar to the last game [against Ipswich]. We conceded two easy goals again, but we can not speak about this. We can’t use excuses. We are Chelsea and we want to win all the games.

‘Now we work hard for the rest of the season to stay together and we know we have more games to play. We can still finish in the Champions League positions and then we can play in European competition. It’s not a good night for us but the most important thing is that we are into the semi-finals.’

Focusing on his goalscoring exploits this season, the 26-year-old has been pleased to contribute more in the attacking phase of play, notching his sixth of the season last night.

‘I try to help the team in any way I can,’ he explained. ‘This season, I have had the opportunity to score goals so I’m happy for this. At the same time, I would prefer to win games rather than score.

‘In my last few seasons, I knew I could improve [my goalscoring] and I knew I could help the team. I’m happy with this but we need to keep improving. We will try to give everything.’

Marc’s focus has already shifted to securing an important three points against our west London neighbours when we play Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

He added: ‘In three days we play another game which is good because we want to get three points to play in the Champions League.

‘We are in the most important moment of the season. We need to stay together, keep going, work hard and I think Sunday [against Fulham] is an important game so we need to fight for the three points.’
