Enzo Maresca was full of praise for our goalscorers Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez following the 2-1 win at Leicester City, due to the way they continue to adapt to our ever-changing game plan week by week.
Goals either side of half-time at the King Power Stadium by Jackson and Fernandez gave us three thoroughly deserved points, even if a stoppage-time penalty for the hosts made the final score closer than our dominance warranted.
For Jackson, it was his seventh Premier League goal of the season, pulling him level with Cole Palmer as Chelsea's top scorer in that competition, and the striker could even have had more, as the goalkeeper twice denied him with excellent saves, the second leading directly to Fernandez's winner.
However, just as impressive for Maresca is how hard Jackson is working off the ball - as evidenced by the way he pressured Wout Faes into giving up possession for the opening goal - as well as his ability to fulfil the different roles required of our striker week in, week out.
'He’s doing very well,' said our head coach. 'I’ve said many times since we started, he’s working hard on the ball and off the ball. He is making an effort to understand the way we want to play.
'Sometimes we use him almost as a midfielder, dropping. Sometimes we use him attacking behind, like against Brighton or even today. It depends a little bit on the game plan.
'We are very happy with Nico and the way he is playing on the ball, but especially the way he is playing off the ball, the way he is pressing. In this moment we are very happy and we are sure he is going to improve and do even better game after game.'
It was Fernandez's header from Jackson's rebound which ultimately goes down as the match winner, though, due to Leicester's late consolation from the penalty spot.
It was a goal which gave Maresca plenty of satisfaction, having come from an area he is keen for the Argentinian to operate in more often.
'Enzo did very well today,' Maresca said. 'He has been doing well since we started, the same as Joao Felix, as I have said many times. The problem is depending on the game plan we use different kinds of players.
'I thought today was the right game to use Enzo even if he was just back from international duty. I think he did very well.
'I am trying to convince Enzo in the way I played last year [at Leicester] with [Wilfred] Ndidi and Kiernan [Dewsbury-Hall], the attacking midfielder has to arrive inside the box. The reason he scored today was because he was in the box. Otherwise from outside the box you are not going to score goals.
'So we are happy with the way Enzo is playing.'
Finally, the Chelsea head coach gave a fitness update on the three players who were unavailable for today's win at Leicester, as well as one who did feature but required treatment on the pitch at the final whistle.
'We don’t have any update on Reece [James],' started Maresca. 'We have to wait still some days because he’s going to do a scan again and then we will see.
'Malo [Gusto] was with us in Leicester but during the night unfortunately he didn’t feel well, he was ill, so he was out.
'Pedro [Neto] had a problem when he was with the international team. There was a chance that he could be with us but we didn’t want to take any risk for this game and hopefully he can be available for the next one.
'Levi [Colwill] was exactly the same as Malo. He didn’t feel very well during the night and this morning, but he could play. He finished the game, so hopefully it is nothing important.'
