The Chelsea FC Matchday Information WhatsApp channel is now two months old and match-going fans who have not already signed up are encouraged to do so if they want updates aiding their experience at, or travelling to and from, football stadiums.

This source of information is specifically targeted towards supporters who attend men’s or women’s matches at Stamford Bridge and Kingsmeadow, and at opposition grounds.

The number of followers has doubled in recent weeks and examples of some of the alerts already sent out are:

  • Unplanned disruption on the tube service serving Stamford Bridge, arising close to or during games

  • The chance at home games to meet and discuss matters with the club’s Fan Advisory Board

  • Planned engineering works reducing services to Chelsea away games

  • Supporter-led foodbank collections

  • Guides for visiting supporters issued by clubs hosting our away games

  • Ticket news just released for forthcoming matches

  • Megastore and Museum matchday opening info

  • Notification of pre-match assistance in case of difficulties with digital ticket trials

  • Local travel recommendations for away games in Europe

  • News of new ticket forwarding option
