Blues eyeing Camavinga

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

According to French journalist Julien Laurens, the Blues could be one of the options the Rennes star could end up at this summer if he leaves the French club.

‘It’s a huge opportunity for those four clubs, but I don’t think Real Madrid are really in it,’ Laurens said about the clubs that are keen on Camavinga. ‘So, we’re probably looking at Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United.

‘There has been no offer from these clubs, but they have all been talking to Camavinga’s agent.’

The midfielder has reportedly told Rennes he will not sign a new contract, meaning the club could look to cash in on the player soon.

The report also states that Chelsea have a good relationship with Rennes, the club where Edouard Mendy arrived from last season.

‘Petr Cech is a huge fan’ Laurens added. ‘And of course, he came from Rennes and still has a lot of friends there.’

Mancini praises Vialli

Italy boss Roberto Mancini has hailed former Chelsea star Gianluca Vialli for the role he has played in the Italian national team’s Euro 2020 run.

Speaking to the press, the Italian manager labelled his former team-mate as a ‘brother’ ahead of their Euro 2020 final clash against England.

‘Vialli and I have known each other for a very long time,’ the Premier League-winning manager said. ‘So, it’s only natural that’s it’s different. I’m not necessarily saying we grew up together, but it’s almost like that.

‘We spent several years together and we have a relationship that goes way beyond friendship. He’s almost like a brother to me.’

Vialli is currently working as the delegation chief of the Italian national side. Italy are currently on a 33-match unbeaten run, winning their last 14 consecutive games.

‘There has been an excellent rapport among everyone,’ Mancini added. ‘Between the players and the staff, and Vialli is now getting on a bit.

‘We are quite happy to listen to him when he speaks up.’

Redknapp on Jorginho’s passing

Jamie Redknapp believes Jorginho will play a major part in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final between Italy and England at Wembley.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Liverpool midfielder believes England will have to stop the Italian if they are to win the European Championships.

‘I think Jorginho is a fantastic player technically,’ Redknapp said. ‘But can you hurry him up? Can you put him under pressure?’

Jorginho has had a fantastic Euro 2020 filled with elite passing displays. The midfielder has the opportunity to win another European trophy when he returns to Wembley on Sunday.

‘Of course, he’s brilliant, he gets it on the half-turn and he’ll play balls,’ the Sky Sports pundit continued. ‘Sometimes he can make you look like a bit of a fool.

‘But you still need to gamble and press him and win the ball high up the pitch.’
