Chelsea eye Madrid’s Militao according to reports
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao.
The 23-year-old has played every single minute in Madrid’s 12 La Liga matches for this season, but reports suggest the Blues believe they can prise him away from Los Blancos despite Carlo Ancelotti rating the defender highly.
A report by The Sun, citing Spanish outlet El Nacional, states that the Brazilian is wanted by numerous European clubs, putting Chelsea on high alert.
‘Yet despite coming into favour at the Bernabeu, Chelsea are trying to tempt him to Stamford Bridge with an offer that would see his wages increase significantly,' the report states.
‘Militao signed a six-year deal with Real Madrid in 2019 and so remains under contract until 2025.
‘But, according to El Nacional, interest from the Blues is pressuring Los Blancos president Florentino Perez into renegotiating an improved deal for Militao.’
Azpilicueta posts positive reaction to Ibrahimovic incident
Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta was on the receiving end of a huge shoulder barge from Zlatan Ibrahimovic during Spain’s victory over Sweden in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
A late goal from ex-Blue Alvaro Morata secured a 1-0 victory for La Roja at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, and ensured they topped Group B.
In the final few minutes of the match, Ibrahimovic took his frustration out on Chelsea’s most-capped Spanish international with a strong shoulder tackle but did not face any punishment.
A report by the Metro explains the situation and reports that Ibrahimovic ‘acted like he had been pushed’.
‘Azpilicueta clearly felt the impact of Ibrahimovic’s barge as the Chelsea defender stayed on the ground for a few minutes,’ the story in the Metro states.
‘But the AC Milan forward had acted like he had been pushed into Azpilicueta by another Spain player.
‘The incident went unpunished and did not appear to be reviewed by VAR for dangerous play from Ibrahimovic.
‘In a reply to a post on Twitter which showed a clip of the incident after the game, Azpilicueta wrote ‘all good here’ and uploaded a picture of himself smiling.’
Chelsea linked to German star Adeyemi
RB Salzburg star Karim Adeyemi is reportedly a target for the Blues and a bidding war for the German international will be ‘unleashed’ next summer.
The Munich-born centre forward has three goals in four Champions League group stage appearances this season, and also 11 goals in 13 Austrian Bundesliga games.
According to Calciomercato, the Blues have made first strides in the race to sign the left-footed striker.
‘Karim Adeyemi is ready to unleash an international auction next summer,’ the report states.
‘The Salzburg striker will see his contract expire next summer and the last club to make contact with his entourage was Chelsea.’
‘Inter [Milan] are also in for the German talent.’
Adeyemi has already scored for Germany after making his national team debut in September, in a 6-0 win over Armenia, alongside Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger.
