Dear Chelsea fans,

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for making me feel at home here from my very first game. Your dedication to supporting us through thick and thin has been incredible and, for me, that’s a huge part of what makes this club so special.

I think after all these years, you know by now that I’m Chelsea through and through and this has become my home.

It has filled me with so much pride and joy to be given the opportunity to lead this team as captain. I feel extremely privileged to be in this position and I can promise you I will continue to give my heart and soul to this club, to you the fans and to my team-mates, to keep being successful on and off the pitch.

I am super excited for this new chapter but, as you know, I will always remain the same Mil you’ve known since day one, in my values and how I represent the badge, so nothing will change with this.

I can’t wait to see you all again. Cheers to the future you Blues.
