It's been an unprecedented run of four consecutive games against Man City for this Chelsea side, and not only is captain Millie Bright glad that it's now over, she's looking forward to our next match against West Ham at Kingsmeadow later today.
Four matches in a row against the same opponent. A League Cup final win. A first defeat of the season. A stoppage-time winner and a sensational comeback. The last 12 days have been intense to say the least for Chelsea, and Bright could be forgiven to want to take a minute to breathe.
Yet for the skipper, it's all business and – aside from one night of celebration – it's already time to move on, and be thankful the opponent on Sunday is finally a different one.
‘I'm absolutely delighted,' Bright admitted. 'I'm so glad this four-game period is over.
'It's been really intense. I think it's been a lot of lessons learned, to be honest. It's been a new experience, but yeah, I'm glad it's over.'
Another Champions League double-header in the semi-final against Barcelona means April's schedule is looking full once again, and there's an international break to squeeze in too.
From an immense battle on Thursday night to a league encounter with West Ham on Sunday afternoon, the season continues at breakneck speed, but for a side so used to success, it seems it's business as usual.
'I think we're used to playing game after game after game,' Bright assured. 'I think we've constantly been asked in the press conferences, ‘How's the team doing? Are we fit? Are we up for it?’
'When you've got someone like Sonia on the sidelines, she gives you that energy and that adrenaline. As a group of players, we know we're fit enough to cope with this amount of games.
'We've got an unbelievable squad where we've allowed players to get a little bit of rest. But I think mentally we’re in a really good place, physically, we’re ready to go again, have a little night off, and then it's back to business.
'We had a little bit of dancing here and there [in the dressing room]. Erin [Cuthbert] was the DJ, so she had her music blasting.
'But like I said, it's the important part of the season where we’re at the business end. There's no time to relax and switch off. I think it's super important to enjoy this moment, as they don't come around often.
'We've worked extremely hard in the last seven days, but yeah, a little night off, recovery tomorrow and just get back to it. We've got a big game at the weekend.'
