Chelsea Academy striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan has been named on the shortlist for January's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan played a starring role for our Under-21s during January, starting four of our five matches across all competitions in that age group, including helping us to 3-2 victories in both of our Premier League 2 fixtures, against Manchester United and Reading.
It was in the second of those, when we hosted the Royals at Kingsmeadow, which he really stood out, as the 18-year-old netted a hat-trick to give us the three points after coming back from 2-1 down.
Morgan had also opened the scoring in the 1-1 draw with Valencia which kicked off the month and ultimately sealed our progress to the knockout stages of the Premier League International Cup, and continued his goalscoring form into February by grabbing a brace in last Friday's 3-3 draw with Leeds United.
The Blues forward is one of eight players named on the shortlist for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award, with the winner decided by the Premier League Football Development Panel and announced on Friday 16 February.
