N’Golo Kante was among those involved in Chelsea training at Cobham today as the Blues put the finishing touches to preparations for our Champions League trip to France.
Following back-to-back victories in domestic competition, attentions now switch to European football and the bid to get our first points on the board in Group H. Kante took part in today’s session, the first 15 minutes of which were open to the media, after missing the weekend win over Brighton.
Frank Lampard reported after that game that the Frenchman was carrying a minor hamstring problem, although he insisted the decision to leave him out of the squad was more of a precautionary measure.
Kurt Zouma was back among the group after illness ruled him out of our 2-0 victory on Saturday, while compatriot Olivier Giroud also returned following a similar absence. Antonio Rudiger, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Emerson Palmieri were the only players from our Champions League A List not to train with the 24-man group.
Lampard and one of his players will address the media later this evening once the team touch down in Lille.
