Nathalie Bjorn was pleased to see the momentum continue as the Blues extended our lead at the top of the Women's Super League table to five points by beating Manchester United 1-0 at Kingsmeadow.

On a windy Sunday afternoon, Sonia Bompastor's side claimed an eighth consecutive league victory to move onto 24 points at the summit. A victory which increases our winning run to 12 games across all competitions.

It was certainly not the best performance that Chelsea has put in this season, however, the Swedish defender believes it is a positive reflection of how determined her and her team-mates are to continue such a positive start to the season.

'It's a really nice feeling to end the second block before the international break in this way,' Bjorn said. 'It maybe wasn't the prettiest against Man Utd, but it's a clean sheet and the three points. That's the most important thing.

'It speaks volumes. We've shown over and over again that we are a solid team with a lot of good players. It isn't always pretty, but we manage in some way - with passion or individual quality - to pick up the points. It's this momentum that we need to keep up.'

To win games even when you are not performing your best, Bjorn says, is a testament to the mentality of the team, while it also leaves her excited as she believes it shows there is even more to come from the Blues this season.

'It's so important,' the Swedish defender added. 'You build confidence from knowing that we can step things up even further and that we can still improve. We just have to keep building and improving.

'We have all got each other's backs and you see that in the matches with how we fight for each other on the pitch. We all want to do what we can to help the team.'

Bjorn will now turn her attention to international duty. The defender has been included in Sweden's squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers play-off matches against Serbia. A win over two legs will send them to next summer's major tournament in Switzerland.

'I feel good going into it,' Bjorn said. 'I have a lot of confidence from playing. We need to win to qualify for the Euros and we're going to go and try and do that.'
