Chelsea defender Jorja Fox has signed a new contract with the club and will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at fellow Women’s Super League side Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old, who rose through the ranks of our Academy and made her senior debut against Aston Villa in the 2020/21 campaign, has extended her stay at the club by signing a new deal until June 2027.

General manager Paul Green said: ‘We’re very happy to be extending Jorja’s contract for a further two years.

'We see this as a good opportunity for Jorja after getting back to full fitness following her injury.

'It will allow her to get more WSL match minutes to continue her development. We look forward to seeing her have a successful season with Crystal Palace.’

Jorja will now spend the upcoming season at newly-promoted Palace having completed her rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury which she sustained during a loan spell with Brighton & Hove Albion – where she made 23 appearances in all competitions - in May of last year.

Before Jorja’s spell on the south coast, she spent the 2021/22 season on loan in the Women’s Championship with Charlton Athletic.

Now, the defender will turn out for Crystal Palace who will play in the WSL for the first time during this campaign after winning the Championship last season.

Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Jorja every success during her time on loan with the Eagles, and we look forward to seeing her development throughout the season.
