Lesley Ugochukwu has been named in France’s provisional squad for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The host nation have listed 25 players which will eventually be cut down to a final roster of 18 for the tournament.

Ugochukwu, who has previously represented his country at Under-21 level, appeared 15 times for the Blues during a debut season which saw him miss more than half of the 2023/24 campaign through injury, returning to the Chelsea squad for the final three matches of the season and coming on against Brighton and Bournemouth.

The 20-year-old will join up with Les Bleus on 16 June for a training camp, with the team managed by Premier League Hall of Famer Thierry Henry.

The men's football tournament at the Games will be held between Wednesday 24 July and Saturday 10 August

As well as Olympic host city Paris, matches will take place at six other host venues across France including in Marseille, Saint-Etienne and Nice, to name a few.

Ugochukwu's side are in Group A alongside USA - who they will face on the opening day of the tournament - New Zealand and Guinea.

Sixteen teams feature in the finals, with a knockout stage deciding the medal positions. The Gold medal match takes place at the Parc des Princes in Paris on 9 August.

Bonne chance, Lesley!
