Chelsea is pleased to confirm the arrival of Oriane Jean-Francois, with the French midfielder joining from Paris Saint-Germain.

Having spent the early years of her professional career in her native France, the 22-year-old makes the move to London ahead of the 2024/25 season after penning a three-year contract with the Blues, which also has an additional one-year option.

Jean-Francois is dynamic and versatile. She can play at the base of central midfield or go box-to-box and has racked up 93 senior matches in her career to date.

On becoming a Chelsea player, Jean-Francois commented: ‘It is a good moment for my career and the player I want to be. I’m very happy to sign here and I’m excited to start my journey.’

General manager Paul Green added: ‘Oriane is a young, athletic defensive midfielder with good experience for her age. She has shown a great attitude and we are looking forward to seeing how she takes the next steps in her career whilst at the club.’

Our newest addition signed her first professional contract with Paris FC where she made her first-team debut just before her 18th birthday. In the summer of 2022, Jean-Francois moved to PSG where she has spent the last two seasons.

During her time with the Parisians, the midfielder was a Coupe de France winner but sadly, she suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying in October 2023.

On the international stage, Jean-Francois was part of the France squad who claimed the Under-19 European Championship in 2019. Soon after, she went on to make her senior debut for Les Bleues in October 2020.

Everyone at Chelsea is delighted to welcome Oriane to the club, and we wish her every success for the forthcoming years in blue!
